Allison Rimland, MS
Licensed Professional Counselor in Denver, Colorado
I have eight years of experience counseling others to understand themselves more fully and better their lives. I have provided therapy to individuals, couples, families, teens and groups. I started my professional career in the high-tech sales world, making the change to counseling in order to follow my heart.
I received my Master's Degree in Counseling with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy from San Francisco State University. My BA is from Middlebury College in Vermont. I am a Colorado Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor.
As the married mother of two children, I bring real life experience along with counseling expertise to each and every therapy session with you. Strengths-Based Practical & Solutions Focused 'width' is a duplicate attribute name. Line 1, position 37.What are your hours?

Relational
As a Relational or Interpersonal therapist, I work very hard to develop a caring, trusting, and honest relationship with my clients. Therapists from this orientation often use the therapeutic relationship itself as a model for what may be happening in a client's relationships. Often, the counseling dialogue itself is used to help us both understand the presenting challenges better.
Systemic and Holistic
My training focused on community-based family therapy which addresses the system (society, school, peers, family, & self) in understanding client problems and developing solutions. I may recommend in-home therapy for your family in order to best include all these dynamics which can impact your family. I am also a firm believer in viewing the whole person in therapy. A Holistic approach will take into consideration and may include in the therapy: overall health, fitness, diet, sleep, friendships, work, and other relationships.
As a strengths-based therapist, I believe in the noble intent of human interactions and helps clients to find the solutions within themselves, using their current strengths. Change occurs also through the development of those strengths.
I believes in addressing real-life challenges in a positive, practical manner. If a solution is not practical (i.e. you wouldn’t actually do it), then its usefulness is extremely limited. Work can then focus on identifying barriers to good solutions and overcoming them.
