Our Relationship Needs Help…So Why Aren’t We Getting It?

You’ve said to yourself, “My relationship needs help!”

YouTube video

And yet, there you are, still arguing. Still disconnected. Still not able to talk about it.

Maybe you’re even beginning to think about whether you should divorce or break up. You want to fix your relationship, but every time you try to talk about it, you argue. Or, maybe you’re afraid to tell him or her that you have been feeling unhappy.

It is totally normal for couples to struggle.

It’s true. All couples can feel disconnected sometimes. All couples get stuck in repetitive arguments that we Emotionally Focused Couple Therapists call the negative cycle. All couples go through times where they’re not as sexually connected as they  want to be. When couples fight, it is not uncommon for one or both partners to worry about whether their relationship is going to make it.

If this is you, take heart. You’re not alone. Relationships are hard work.

All relationships have ruptures. Good ones know how to repair.

Did you know that research has shown that couples wait an average of six (6!!!) years after having problems to seek couples therapy?

What gives? Why do we wait when we know we need help? Why do we start to think about divorcing or breaking up as a possible solution and not couples counseling?

The #1 reason we don’t reach out when our relationship needs help (& what you can do about it).

Check out my video blog above to find out the #1 reason I think we wait when our relationship needs help. There are things that you can do to overcome this block. This is one of the first and most important things we will work on in couples therapy.

If you’re in the Greenwood Village or Denver area and you don’t want to become a statistic, call 303-513-8975 or  Schedule Appointment now.

We would love to help you not only save your relationship, but to create an even better one where you know what to do and no longer wait when your relationship needs help.
